Why this Co-ordination?
There are various job threats facing by the core subject teachers of Kerala. There is no way to inform these problems to the teacher organizations and the authorities effectively. CSTC act as a link between the subject teachers and the counter part teacher organisation & the authorities... and become the voice of the core subject teachers. |
The major problem facing by the Core Subject Teachers
As per the G.O 11/2002 Dt:7-01-2002 ,Government of Kerala insisted to appoint English graduates for handling English in high school classes.Untill then the subject ratio was 1:1:1. When English was accommodated as a new core subject the subject ratio became 1:1:1:1. This resulted in a lot of other core subject teachers, those who entered the service before 2002 becoming excess.
If there is a reduction of posts due to the fall in divisions, these senior subject teachers are retrenching by the authorities. This cannot be justified because they are in continuous service prior to the issue of the G.O 11/02.And will not be retrenched if the G.O was not implemented.
In some other schools additional divisions are sanctioned on higher level verification and approved the new English H.S.As.If this newly sanctioned division is reduced, the result is the retrenchment of the senior core subject teacher. This is quite injustice.
Clause 3(a) of the G.O has clearly said that the implementation should be done “ in a phased manner without causing retrenchment to the existing core subject HSAs". Despite this protecting clause in the order, hundreds of core subject teachers are facing threat to their job. Even Teachers with the stipulated service are facing uncertainty.
In these circumstances we appeal to all other teacher organizations to take up the issue seriously and fight us the anomalies and disparity.
